ChatGPT / GPT-4o trading tournament rules
The AI Trading Tournament is designed as a controlled virtual trading environment.
The GPT-4o layer connects to the model through the OpenAI API, while the trading
pipeline automatically provides the data package, prompt context and execution rules.
The model receives the prepared input and makes an independent trading decision
without manual human intervention during the decision step.
Data package
Each LLM receives a structured set of market data that can be reviewed through
the Media, Charts and Macro layers. The data is updated after the previous daily
candle is complete. Live bid data and intraday market updates are not provided
to the model.
Chart input
The technical chart input is based on D1 candles from the last three months.
In the technical analysis layer, the LLM is free to interpret price structure
and choose the analytical methods it considers relevant.
Media insights
In the first step, insights are extracted from professional financial media.
The LLM then has to connect those insights with the selected financial instrument
and decide whether the material is relevant for trading.
Macro layer
In AT + Macro mode, the technical conclusions are enriched with macroeconomic
context. For stocks, this means a print of company fundamental data. For forex
and crypto, this means country-level and macroeconomic data relevant to the
instrument.
Combined mode
In AT + Macro + Insights mode, the decision package is expanded with the
previously extracted media insights. If the system does not have enough data
for a ticker, the trading layer is blocked and the related tab remains unavailable.
Transaction rules
During each iteration, the LLM may perform only one trading action:
open a position, process stop loss or take profit, or adjust a trailing stop.
Stop loss and take profit activation has priority. Limit orders and swing
trading within a single iteration are not allowed.
