Electoral Title Regularization in Brazil

Electoral Justice is implementing nationwide campaigns to assist voters in regularizing their electoral titles before the upcoming deadline. With less than 15 days remaining, many individuals face challenges in addressing their electoral issues due to work and school commitments. In São Luis, significant turnout is expected as individuals seek assistance during these campaigns. The events, known as multirões, are scheduled on weekends across various capitals, providing services such as updating voter information and registering biometric data. In Maranhão alone, 267,000 individuals need to complete their biometric registration. Nationwide, 26 million voters have yet to register their fingerprints, leading to the cancellation of 5 million electoral titles due to inactivity over three consecutive elections. Failure to regularize electoral status can prevent individuals from holding public office or obtaining identification documents. The urgency of these campaigns highlights the importance of voter engagement and accessibility in the electoral process.
